  How do your products represent social groups or Issues? The film Maneater is unlike many thriller films, challenging the social norms of the man being dominant in society (gender inequality) In the film industry women likely aren't taken into account as the dominant ones, being the protagonist. Mostly, they are likely defeated by their male enemy. Unfortunately in many films, including thrillers, males are the dominant gender biologically and they tend to win a fight both mentally and physically. Our short film features Nelly Ferguson and Kyle Nelson on a mission to hunt each other down and kill one another as a part of each other's mission instructed from their agency. Throughout the film Kyle is seen trying to undermine Nelly into poisoning her. Nelly detects this deceiving act and throws away the poisoned chocolate “gifted” to her by Kyle. At the end of the film, they are both seen getting into a fight with a knife, Kyle winning at first, then Nelly eventually taking victo...

Hey blogger! As promised i am back with production of the postcard. I love being creative so this was so much fun for me. i used the app called Canva because it is the best to utilize for these kinds of things. It really is so much fun. I first had to start with a template. I searched for thriller and horror backgrounds to filter my options. I found one with the best font and went with it. It had red lettering which was perfect. The aesthetic was super cool and went amazing with what i had envisioned. Next i had to map out what i wanted on it. I had to open a social media account to add to it. I opened an Instagram and added content on it so it wasn’t just a blank link. I then was able to form a QR code to put on our poster. I had no idea you could even do that on instagram! Next i had to figure the dates our film would “premiere” of course. I chose 3 random dates and added that to the back of the card. The font for that was very spooky and cool as well. Guys guess what! We finally filmed! This was a long time coming but lemme tell you about it. So Isa and her boyfriend could not be the stars in our film unfortunately. There were many issues with rides and everything so we had to improvise. Lauren stepped in and had the idea for her and her boyfriend to be our stars. Lemme tell you, it took a whole lot of convincing to get Lauren’s boyfriend to film but luckily he agreed. There were two filming days, Wednesday and Friday. They ended up going better than expected. There was a little bit of an issue we ran into which was the fake knife. Filming happened right after school and I bought fake knifes on amazon. Obviously i could not bring a fake knife to school so that didn’t workout. Lauren’s boyfriend’s dad ended up making a fake knife that actually looked better than the Amazon one. To make the knife, we used cardboard and wrapped it in tinfoil to make it look like metal. Fake blood was used made out of ketchup and it actually looked grea...

 Hey blogger! So guess what. I leave for New York tomorrow. I am so excited, I'm going to my cousins bridal shower. This is the one i was telling you guys about in the last blog. The bride's name is Olivia and she is the sweetest. Her and her husband Stefano are the sweetest and cutest couple. Her wedding will be the first time, I will be out of the country. So, i leave tomorrow for this bridal shower. It is in Jersey city, so i guess I should just say I'm visiting Jersey, not New York. I still have to pack though. That may take a while. Hey, long time no see. As it is getting closer to filming day, we needed to buy props. We didn't need that many props so it wasn't any issue. I went on Amazon to start the search. The only props we needed were the weapons in the film. I searched for little fake knives and guns. We decided it would be best to just use knives in the film. In our storyboard, the guy does have a gun. We decided we are going to change that for the actual film. I ended up finding the props i wanted to buy. I bought these fake knives and they came in a pack of four. They arrived yesterday and they are actually so cool. I didn't know this when i purchased them but they are retractable. When you "stab" with them they actually go in. I think this is going to look so good in out film. Especially for the end of the film (wink wink). Hey blogger, I'm back! Let me tell you about our planning. We finally came up with a plan. So Isa, Brianna, Lauren and i have a groupchat. Yesterday we finally got to talking more about filming. There was a lot of issues but we finally figured out what we are going to do. I originally wanted to do it this week but we are all unfortunately too busy. The next day we came up with was the weekend. I am going to be away this weekend so that didn't work. I'm going to my cousins bridal shower! I am so excited for that. I am actually going to Italy for her wedding this summer. Anyway, going back to filming, the next day we came up with was Tuesday. That date was going to be all. We even had a ride to Isa's house. Welcome back to the blog. So, i am in desperate need of a job. I have never had one but i do babysit. Babysitting works until i need a steady job making money. I do get paid well to babysit, but i only do it once in a while. I have applied for so many jobs. Starbucks was my first choice as I thought it would be pretty simple to get an interview at least, but i was wrong. I have gone in so many times so talk to someone but nothing more has developed further. Everytime i go in, they ask me to write down my name and that they will talk to the manager. I don't think they ever unfortunately. Once they told me to come when the manager is there but she is there the same exact times as my school hours so i have no opportunity there. The next job I have applied for is a coffee shop called Press and Grind. I've been their a lot and they have the best food and drinks. Hey blogger! Per usual we are still really busy as a group. Brianna and Isa had their tournament today. I believe it was also yesterday. Can’t wait to see how they did! This weekend while they were busy, i had some fun! I went to this fair with my friend Mackena. It was kind of far away. I drove to her house which is 45 minutes away from mine. I had to go on the highway to get there. Last time i was on the highway i missed so many exits. Luckily i got there without missing any exits this time. We were supposed to go to the mall but that didn’t workout. So once i got there we went to the fair. It was called the butterfly festival. It was really cute, and i went last year with her and my friend(her twin) Marissa. We had so much fun! Marissa couldn’t go this time because she wasn’t feeling well. I think something is going around because i was sick a little bit ago as well. I’m not sure if it’s flu season but everyone seems to be sick. Anyway, we had lots of fun at the fair! 

 Hey blogger! So once again, my whole group and I have been extremely busy. Isa and Brianna just got back from Harvard yesterday. Isa broke to triple octos. Brianna and our friend Andreas did very well but unfortunately did not break. Next weekend we cannot film because Brianna has another debate tournament. We are still working out the time we can film. I am thinking next week instead of the weekend sometime. Hopefully we can workout a date soon. Anyway the other day the craziest thing happened. At school we were in first period. In first period all the sudden there was an announcement. The announcement said that we had to evacuate and that there was a gas leak. It was actually my media class. We all evacuated and went to the softball field. We were there for like 2 hours. It was crazy, we had no idea when we were gonna go back in. We have similar school schedules but our outside lives are so busy, we haven't had a chance to get together outside of school just yet. We do talk about our plan in class when we see each other. Hey blogger, welcome back! As it is getting closer to the filming period, we need to start planning.  • Schedule We will meet in person every 2 weeks to film. As we are in class we will see each every other day to discuss our plans. • Location We all live in different areas so we chose somewhere we all know we can go to. We will film in Sawgrass Mills Mall. We will find a designated drop-off area for all of us to go to. For the alleyway scenes, we will go to one of our houses and use the back alleyway to record.  • Participants As for participants, it will just be our group and 1 other guy who plays the lead role in the film.     The short film Unleaded begins with a black screen, typical from a thriller short. The audience is only given the sound of what is revealed to be a person filling up gas at a station. A woman is shown to be sitting in her car as she looks inside the gas station. She then is shown to be watching two people robbing the gas station inside, one pointing a gun at the cashier and the other holding him down. Another car pulls into the gas station and the women watches the car very closely. What is going on in the car is then revealed. There are two men in the front and a third in the back. The two look to the back and at the third guy as he objects to going inside the gas station. It is not known if they are aware of what is going on inside, but the man who was objecting in car ends up going in, putting on a gray hoodie, and walks right past the robbers. The robbers notice and one sneaks up from behind the guy in the grey hoodie and points a gun from the back of his head telling ...

    The short film Oracle first begins with a black screen, only letting viewers hear the noise of, what is revealed seconds later, a carpenter machine. I think this had an eerie effect, which is typical of a thriller, as it gave the viewers a bit of information, but held back the rest. The short then moves on to showing several children, one sitting in the snow, another eating a plant, with a child playing in the snow in the background. What I have noticed in the first minute of the movie is the lack of background noise, which also adds to the eerie effect of the short. By choosing to omit the music, viewers like myself pay full attention to what is going on. This actually almost feels unsettling. The short then moves on to showing a boy go up the stairs, while the noise of the carpenter machine plays in the background. However, the noise is now distorted, which really made me anxious as to what is going on. The boy seems to look at the door, as the distorted noise grows more...
